At Stanford's Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, researchers are working on the next generation of robots, which can go into an unfamiliar situation and deal with unofficial objects. Centerpiece of the work is a dishwasher loading robot.

lets spend 100000 pounds on a robot that can do the dishes in about 3 days by the looks of it. id rather pay someone for that and make them do all the other household chores too

Yeap, americans usually are lazy and stupid (I’m not american hehe :P)
and yet statistics show over 65-70% of emigrants travel all the way to America rather then travel to neighboring countries…wonder why that is? (I am American hehehe
)
I don’t know why everyone says americans are lazy. I know we’re fat, but from what I’ve seen in Europe, Americans have a stronger work ethic, are not lazy, and are much more organized. Thats why we get shit done. Find something else to complain about.
what do you do for work?
why are u guys calling AMERICA like USA.
USA in on northamerica just that !! Ok ¿
see ya
Does the school help you machine your parts or do you have to contract it out?
test
Well actually I know totally disabled people that can only move their head, not arms/legs… and if they could even just control this robot with head or eye movements, they could ‘virtually’ wash dishes, clean etc, to some degree and it would be a good use for this technology!!!
who needs this? I mean haven’t they heard of a magical device a called “dishwashers”?
stanford seem to have a pretty good AI lab
well… i have to deal with people like xXKentoXx or onurb511 : so short minded… listen: is not a robot taht clea dishes, is the huge step they have performed in AI…the use of that in other fields of human activities… the smartest people in the world: all main technologies are here today because of them: show some respect for that…they not perfect (far from that) but they are pioneers, the ones that push humans to a confort living… (im not american, by the way)…
